Akon City was earmarked to be a Pan-African “smart city,” touted as a beacon of progress and innovation with a staggering price tag of $6 billion. Local residents envisioned flourishing job opportunities, educational institutions, and state-of-the-art amenities—all projected to rise by 2030. But where is this modern marvel now?
