Blockaid Secures $33 Million to Bolster Crypto Security Against Scams

Major Funding Round

Blockaid, a fresh player in the blockchain security arena, has just snagged an impressive $33 million in a Series A funding round. This round was headlined by notable venture capital firms including the likes of Ribbit Capital and Variant, along with heavyweights such as Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, and Greylock Partners. It’s clear that these investors see potential in Blockaid’s mission to create a safer crypto landscape!

Emerging from Stealth

After shrouding itself in secrecy for quite a while, Blockaid has stepped into the limelight and is now unveiling its security platform. Among its inaugural clients are well-known names such as MetaMask, OpenSea marketplace, Rainbow wallet, and the Zerion wallet. Their goal? To proactively fend off the dark forces of malicious transactions that run rampant in the Web3 space.

Developing Protective Features

Previously, MetaMask made waves by teasing a collaboration with Blockaid and OpenSea to roll out a feature that warns users about “known scams.” Users opting into this feature will benefit from OpenSea’s scam blocklist and Blockaid’s clever analysis of potentially harmful transactions, like signature farming and wallet draining. In simpler terms, it’s like having a security guard who never takes a lunch break!

Combatting Malicious Transactions

Blockaid is all set to enhance its capabilities with the latest funding, working tirelessly to fortify the crypto industry against hacks and scams. Founded in 2022 by former members of Unit 8200 (think of it as Israel’s version of the Secret Service but for tech geniuses), Blockaid’s platform rolls with the punches and adapts to any blockchain network. Talk about versatility!

We’re Making a Difference!

Blockaid has proudly reported its achievements over the last three months, stating that they scanned a whopping 450 million transactions and blocked about 1.2 million malicious attempts. With $500 million in user funds seemingly saved from the clutches of cybercriminals, they’re truly the superheroes of the crypto world. “By proactively preventing malicious actions through our unique architecture, Blockaid improves with every transaction,” said CEO Ido Ben-Natan. Who knew blockchain security could be this exciting?
