AMC Unleash the NFTs
In a blockbuster move that would make even the most seasoned Hollywood executive drool, AMC held a press conference (well, more of a Twitter post) announcing the distribution of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to its shareholders. How’s that for a home run? The NFT, cleverly named “I Own AMC,” features a flashy medal, making shareholders feel as prestigious as winning an Oscar.
AMC CEO Adam Aron took to Twitter with the announcement, stating, “Emails detailing how to claim your AMC Investor Connect “I Own AMC” NFT will be sent next week… The NFT and a WAX wallet for up to a year are free to you.” Talk about taking care of your peeps!
The Rise of Cryptocurrency at AMC
Since becoming the belle of the meme stock ball courtesy of the r/Wallstreetbets crew, AMC has fully embraced the digital currency wave. Back in September 2021, Aron threw down the gauntlet saying they would accept multiple cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin? Check. Ethereum? Double-check. And let’s not forget Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash!
And just when you thought AMC couldn’t wow us more, here comes Dogecoin and Shiba Inu musings. As of January 7, Aron teased fans, saying they’re “well on track for the promised Q1 implementation” of these beloved memecoins. To infinity and beyond, as they say!
Puppy Bowl and NFTs: A Winning Combination
Hold the phone! No, seriously, can you hold your dog? The Puppy Bowl is back, and this time it’s going digital. On Super Bowl Sunday (February 13, 2022), Animal Planet will air this adorable canine competition alongside a brand-new NFT sale. More importantly, the proceeds will support Ariana Grande’s animal charity, Orange Twins Rescue.
The NFTs in question are essentially trading cards featuring our four-legged friends, flaunting their breed and personality like they’re ready for a modeling gig. Early access started on January 14, so dog lovers better get their virtual wallets ready!
Environmental Consciousness, One Paw at a Time
As if that weren’t enough, the Puppy Bowl organizers claim the NFTs will be generated via eco-friendly solutions with a focus on reducing carbon footprints. Can you think of a sweeter way to support our furry friends while saving the planet?
