It all started with a post from Aptos on X (formerly known as Twitter), humorously remarking, “Your energy for Aptos One was so electric, you cut the lights!” A sentiment that surely tickled some but left many more scratching their heads. Aptos clarified that they were doing their utmost to solve the problem, as transactions were indeed impacted.

As if on cue, two prominent crypto exchanges—Upbit and OKX—issued alerts urging users about maintenance as Aptos (APT) deposits and withdrawals went temporarily dark. In the crypto world, when transactions stall, it doesn’t just stop the money; it puts a whole lot of trading strategies on hold!

To add irony to the outage, Aptos Labs had recently celebrated their one-year anniversary just a day prior, posting, “It’s been a year since Aptos Mainnet burst onto the scene.” Talk about a birthday gift no one asked for! Founded by ex-Meta employees who were part of the Facebook Diem blockchain, Aptos had been gathering steam, only to hit a bump in the road.
