ConsenSys Takes the Plunge
In an exciting twist in the blockchain arena, Ethereum-focused development powerhouse ConsenSys has leveled up by joining Hyperledger as a premier member. Yep, you heard that right! According to a recent press release shared with Cointelegraph, they’re not just dipping their toes – they’ve cannonballed into the deep end of enterprise blockchain development.
Pantheon Makes Its Debut
As part of this bold move, ConsenSys has introduced its Pantheon Java-based Ethereum client to the Hyperledger family. Say hello to Hyperledger Besu, which has made history by being the first public chain-compatible submission to Hyperledger. It’s like the new kid in school, but cooler – and is now the fifteenth project under the Hyperledger umbrella!
Words from the Wise
“By submitting the code for Hyperledger Besu right out of the gate, ConsenSys is showing its support for our mission to build a broad coalition for advancing enterprise blockchain.” – Brian Behlendorf, Executive Director, Hyperledger
Interoperability: The Name of the Game
One of the most profound impacts of this partnership? The focus on open and interoperable blockchains. With ConsenSys engaged, Hyperledger aims to venture into uncharted territories, paving the way for standardized protocols that bolster enterprise-grade blockchain environments. Behlendorf couldn’t have put it better:
- “A large and collaborative community strengthens the technological foundation for blockchain solutions.”
A New Face on the Board
Adding further weight to this collaboration, ConsenSys founder and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin will now sit on Hyperledger’s governing board, which has expanded to 22 members. That’s some serious clout!
Keeping Up with the Giants
The blockchain community is a busy one, bustling with big players. As previously reported, Intel, a major semiconductor manufacturer, has also teamed up with Hyperledger on a new blockchain programming project. Looks like blockchain is the happening place to be!
