OpenSea Launches Bulk Listing and Buying for NFTs

OpenSea, a prominent digital marketplace for crypto collectibles and nonfungible tokens (NFTs), announced on Oct. 5 that the platform will officially allow users to bulk list and bulk purchase up to 30 digital collectible items in a single transaction.

In a series of tweets, OpenSea stated:

“We’re officially live with bulk listing and buying! You can now list and buy up to 30 items in a single flow on OpenSea. Let’s walk through what this experience looks like in this…”

This new feature enables users to add up to 30 items from the same blockchain to their cart before finalizing their purchases, reducing gas fees and streamlining the buying process.

As explained by the company:

“In your collected items tab, you can access bulk listings by clicking on the ‘+’ symbol when you hover over an item card or by clicking ‘list for sale’ in the ‘More Options’ drop-down. You’ll then be able to select up to 30 items to list at once.”

The announcement of these features comes at a time when OpenSea has been experiencing a drastic decline in volume, going from processing approximately $405.75 million in transactions on May 1 to only $5 million worth of NFT transactions on August 28.

This continuous roll-out of innovations follows a recent partnership announcement between OpenSea and Warner Music Group, aimed at providing a platform for select musical artists to expand their music fanbase into the Web3 community.

As the NFT marketplace continues to evolve, the introduction of bulk listing and buying may provide much-needed convenience and encourage greater user engagement on the platform.
