Paco’s Bitcoin Adventure: Traveling the Globe with Cryptocurrency

Estimated read time 2 min read

The Journey Begins

Paco, a determined YouTuber from India, embarked on a remarkable expedition to explore the world, relying solely on Bitcoin (BTC) as his primary means of payment. Inspired by legendary travelers like Nellie Bly, who famously circumnavigated the globe in under 73 days, Paco made the leap into a life of adventure in 2021.

From Zero to Bitcoin Hero

With no cash to his name, Paco sold off his furniture, turning it into a modest $200 worth of Bitcoin. “This is 2021,” he declared with enthusiasm as he prepared for his extraordinary journey. “I will travel the world by using Bitcoin.” At his very first Bitcoin meetup in Bengaluru, he received another $200 worth of Bitcoin, marking a promising start.

A Global Plan

His ambitious itinerary included visiting 40 countries in 400 days. However, like many adventurers, he found his plans derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Omicron variant slammed into India, adding another layer of complexity to his travel aspirations, forcing him to adapt on the fly.

Exploring Africa

As of the recent interview with Cointelegraph, Paco had already traversed eight countries and was making his way through Africa. He observed, “I feel Africa needs Bitcoin more than anyone else in the world. All the currencies are falling down, the countries are falling down — it’s a big blow.” His statements reflect the pressing economic struggles that many face across the continent.

Why Bitcoin?

Paco believes in the mantra, “Fix the money, fix the world.” His journey isn’t just about personal exploration; it’s about demonstrating the potential of Bitcoin as a viable solution amid declining currencies. By showing how cryptocurrency can empower those in need, internalizing this philosophy could possibly lead to a new form of financial liberation.
