Polygon Welcomes 48+ Projects from Terra Ecosystem Post-Collapse

The Rise of Polygon: A New Haven for Former Terra Projects

In the ever-changing world of cryptocurrency, the failed Terra ecosystem has given birth to a resurrection story that is turning heads. Over 48 ambitious projects have either recently migrated or are in the process of migrating to the Polygon network. This transition has become a beacon of hope for those developers who found themselves in a state of flux after the catastrophic collapse of Terra.

Ryan Wyatt’s Enthusiastic Tweet Brigade

Polygon Studios CEO, Ryan Wyatt, couldn’t contain his excitement in a tweet that set the crypto community abuzz. His message was clear: Polygon is here to welcome all those talented developers who were cast adrift when Terra fell apart. He cheekily alluded to the multimillion-dollar Terra Developer Fund, reinforcing the idea that money—and perhaps a touch of good fortune—has made Polygon the darling of displaced projects.

The Winning Projects: Who’s Coming to Polygon?

So, who are the rockstars moving to this new stage? Among the spotlight stealer projects making the leap are:

  • Lunaverse (LUV): A metaverse platform that offers a digital universe for users to explore.
  • OnePlanet: A non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace that specializes in assisting other NFT projects through their Ark*One initiative.
  • Derby Stars: A play-to-earn game that combines the joys of gaming with profit-making opportunities.

OnePlanet’s Ark*One Initiative: The Support System

OnePlanet is pulling double duty in this migration project. Its Ark*One initiative has become an essential resource, helping a significant number of NFT projects escape the sinking ship that was Terra. According to their latest blog post, they’ve successfully helped 48 NFT projects, representing 90 unique NFT collections, find new homes on Polygon. This is particularly important because it includes projects that had yet to launch before that notorious Terra de-peg disaster.

Why Polygon is Winning the Migration Battle

While Polygon appears to be leading the charge, another layer-1 ecosystem, VeChain, tried to roll out the welcome mat—with not as much success. Many Terra projects are ignoring VeChain’s generous offers in favor of Polygon’s appealing framework. As the crypto community holds its breath to see if more projects will shift, Polygon’s ongoing support and launchpad initiatives have already proven enticing enough to captivate many developers.

The Fallout from Terra’s Collapse

The Terra ecosystem’s collapse was nothing short of dramatic. In May, the once-stable TerraUSD Classic (USTC) lost its peg, sending the native token, Luna Classic (LUNC), plummeting in value from over $60 to the chilling depths right about zero. With the old network now dubbed Terra Classic and the introduction of a new version under the Terra name, the repercussions of this collapse continue to send shockwaves through the industry.
