Revolutionizing World-Building: The 2142 AD NFT Comic Book Saga

The Dystopian Premise of 2142 AD

The year is 2142 AD, and you won’t believe what a pickle folks have ended up in! The last Bitcoin has been mined, bringing a surprising lack of excitement—yet reigniting the long-dormant wallet of the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto. In a climactic twist, this wallet sparks an uprising against the all-mighty corporate overlords. Cue chaos!

Now, it’s not just corporations running the show; entheogen spirits, angels, demons, and perky AIs are duking it out in the physical, virtual, and astral realms. Talk about a cosmic brawl!

A Team With a Vision

Leading this adrenaline-fueled adventure is Dušan Žica, the CEO and mastermind of 2142. Before assembling this epic crew, Žica cut his teeth in the realms of copywriting and advertising for over a decade—so, he knows a thing or two about telling a compelling story. Seven years in game development fueled the fire for 2142’s birth in late 2021.

Comic Books Meet Gaming

With a quiver full of frustrated feelings from the NFT jungle full of copycats, Žica and his merry band decided to craft a unique GameFi comic book. Imagine minting, collecting, and piecing together panels of an interactive comic series. Not only can players enjoy the adventure, but they can also join a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to influence the narrative.

  • Mint panels and pages
  • Join the DAO to steer the story
  • Participate in an NFT-driven RPG

The Minting Process: Welcome to the NFT Wonderland

So, how do you dive into this NFT wonderland? Minting the first edition of 2142 begins by paying some gas fees for bundles of randomized NFTs—like opening a surprise pack of collectibles! You’ll need to snag about 15 to 20 bundles to piece together the first 34-page issue. But (drumroll, please) it gets even fancier. Once you complete the comic, you can burn the panels to transform them into one single NFT issue—voilà!

“We’ve got different covers, models, and character combinations. The issue gains value due to its rarity.” – Žica

From Candyman to Card Game

These NFTs aren’t just pretty pixels; they are launching pads into a tabletop RPG and collectible card game universe that takes inspiration from classics like Cyberpunk 2020 and The World of Darkness. It’s where those collectible cards dance off the shelf into the digital realm. Users can craft five-page webcomics using characters and scenes from the 2142 universe, allowing for a taste of creative input.

A Future Worth Fighting For

While the team wants to build a community of devoted gamers, they are also dodging those pesky NFT flippers hoping to cash in quickly. The potential for profit is there, but the focus is on building an immersive experience.

In the project roadmap, members of the DAO will earn revenue shares from the upcoming RPG, CCG video game, and even an animated series to boot. Sounds like a fan’s paradise!
