Autograph, the NFT marketplace co-founded by none other than Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, has just scored big. They recently announced a whopping $170 million funding round, and it’s safe to say the celebration is on – or at least a few gridiron-inspired dance moves are in order!

The Series B funding round was co-led by heavy hitters Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Kleiner Perkins, accompanied by contributions from renowned crypto investor Katie Haun, Nicole Quinn of Lightspeed Venture Partners, and San Francisco-based 01A. If you thought your last fundraiser was impressive, think again. This lineup could practically rival a Super Bowl championship team!
Board Shakeup: Welcome Aboard!
With new funding comes new expertise: Haun, a16z’s general partner Arianna Simpson, and Kleiner Perkins partner Ilya Fushman will be joining Autograph’s board. Plus, Chris Dixon from a16z is joining the advisory board. At this point, Autograph might want to consider adding a ‘Star Player’ section to their website.
Future Plans: Expanding the NFT Universe
According to the team, the funding will be used to scale their NFT technology and develop partnerships to broaden their user base. If the excitement around NFTs were to be measured, we’d need more than just a yardstick – we might need a football field!

Since launching in August 2021, Autograph has been in cahoots with some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment for NFT collections. Just in December, Tom Brady dropped a collection featuring cleats and jerseys from his legendary football career. The marketplace has also teamed up with other icons like Naomi Osaka and Tony Hawk.
